Uniforms / 制服 

 

In Japan, school uniforms are very common, especially in middle and high schools.

日本では、特に中学校や高校で制服がとても一般的です。

 

Many students wear the same uniform every day, and the uniform is often seen as a symbol of the school.

多くの生徒は毎日同じ制服を着ており、制服は学校の象徴の一つと考えられることもあります。

 

In France, most public schools do not have uniforms.

フランスでは、公立学校で制服を着ることは一般的ではありません。

 

Students usually choose their own clothes, although some private schools may have a dress code or uniform.

生徒は基本的に自分の好きな服を選びますが、一部の私立学校では制服や服装のルールがあります。

 

Lunch Time / 昼食 

 

Lunch time is also different in France and Japan.

フランスと日本では、昼食の時間にも違いがあります。

 

In France, lunch is often an important part of the school day.

フランスでは、昼食は学校生活の大切な時間の一つです。

 

Students usually eat at the school cafeteria, called la cantine. The lunch break can be quite long, giving students time to eat and talk with their friends.

生徒は「la cantine（カンティーヌ）」と呼ばれる食堂で昼食を食べることが多く、友達と話しながらゆっくり食事をする時間があります。

 

In Japan, students often eat lunch in their classroom with their classmates.

日本では、教室でクラスメイトと一緒に昼食を食べることが多いです。

 

School lunches (kyūshoku) are usually prepared by the school and include a balanced meal.

給食は学校で準備され、栄養バランスを考えた食事が提供されます。

 

School Schedule / 時間割 

 

School schedules are also different between France and Japan.

フランスと日本では、学校の時間割にも違いがあります。

 

In France, students usually have classes during the day and often have more free time after school.

フランスでは、授業は主に日中に行われ、放課後は自由な時間になることが多いです。

 

Depending on the school, some students may have a long lunch break or no classes on Wednesday afternoon.

学校によっては、昼休みが長かったり、水曜日の午後に授業がない場合もあります。

 

In Japan, many students stay at school after classes for club activities (bukatsu).

日本では、多くの生徒が授業後に部活動（ぶかつどう）を行います。

 

Because of this, school life often continues until the evening.

そのため、学校で過ごす時間が夕方まで続くことも多くあります。
